I nearly dismissed this hotel as it is listed as 2* which I don’t do but my husband persuaded me. We booked last minute (one day before) for one night and had immediate confirmation and options for booking in the restaurant.
There is plenty of parking (always a bonus) and we were greeted by Dorothy and shown to room 5. It’s a large room with a big comfortable bed and pillows. The en-suite has bath and shower and is a good size. We chose not eat in the restaurant that evening. Breakfast was good with a selection of fruits, cereals, etc, and cooked options. We had the full English, which was very good and we waited on by an very attentive young man.
On checking out we chatted with Dorothy and I commented on the 2* rating, which I thought did not reflect the standard of the accommodation on offer, (it merits a much higher rating). As the hotel does not have someone on reception till 11pm and does not provide room service, the hotel cannot be awarded a higher star rating which seems ludicrous to me. It’s a very good place to stay, friendly, professional, clean and comfortable, just what is needed!!
