Swallows Eaves Hotel

Fabulous Hotel with devine food in beautiful part of country

We stayed here in August – our first grown up short break without children and were highly delighted. The staff are very friendly, Dorothy the owner goes out of her way to help and offer advice and besides all that cooks an excellent breakfast to order . Our room was spotless as was the en-suite and the bed was really comfortable .

The evening restaurant is a must – we only ate here on our last eve but then really wished we had eaten here on previous nights. I can only describe the food as outstanding – we are talking fine dining for which you would pay an absolute premium in London and would match the best at any top Michelin rated restaurants. The red wine we chose was superb and apparently when Oz Clark stayed here recently he approved of the wine list!

The hotel is set back from the road – so is very quiet and much to my husbands delight had plenty of secure parking.

All in all we had a wonderful break – this is a great location for walking and we walked part of the East Devon way.
