Covid 19 Action Plan
We are really looking forward to welcoming you back to Swallows Eaves. We are taking extensive measures to ensure your safety during your stay with us, whilst ensuring that we comply with the Covid 19 guidelines. We have put the following actions in place, based on government guidance. Please note, these measures will be reviewed and updated as required.
We ask you to be aware of other guests within the property entrance, lobby, stairs and hallways, to avoid pinch points. Your compliance in this is greatly appreciated. Please bring masks with you if you prefer to wear them.
Limited Contact Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in is between 4 – 8pm. Please use the sanitiser that is available in the porch. We usually accompany guests to your rooms, but we are only doing this if requested by guests until further notice. You will find your sanitised room key and details about breakfast ordering in your room. Assistance with luggage will only be provided if requested. Staff will use gloves to carry luggage which will then be left outside your room.
Check – out is up to 10.30am. Please leave your key in your room so it can be sanitised. Full payment will be taken prior to arrival. Card receipts and VAT receipts can be provided on request.
It is important to us that we maintain our high standards at breakfast and you will have your own table throughout your stay. Unfortunately there will no longer be the option to help yourself at the breakfast bar, and our waitress will serve all food to your table.
To maintain safe distancing, we have moved breakfast tables 2 metres apart and we are introducing 2 sittings. You will be asked in a pre-arrival email which sitting you would like to attend and this will be given on a FIRST COME FIRST SERVED basis.
Service 1 8.15am – 8:45am Service 2 8:45am – 9:15am
For stays of longer than one night, you will be asked to make breakfast choices in advance. At present only 2 households may book a table together and a maximum of 6 people may sit together.
As previous guests know, we have always maintained very high standards of cleanliness and attention to detail and we are enhancing this cleaning process with sanitisation. All extra cushions and bed runners will be removed to reduce touch point risks. We encourage good ventilation of all rooms.
The cloakrooms on the ground floor and an area of the guest lounge have been put out of use until further notice. The terrace remains available for your use but with limited seating to ensure social distancing.
All rooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival.
All the team have received additional training and will wear personal protective equipment.
Government guidelines recommend that staff do not clean your room during stay. Your hospitality tray will be replenished and any tidying of your room undertaken, if you request this.
Restaurants and Pubs
We strongly recommend that you book meals in restaurants and pubs well in advance, as they will have limited capacity and are likely only to accept guests who have bookings.
Guest and Staff Health
It is essential that you do not travel if you are unwell or experiencing any symptoms of Covid 19. If you develop symptoms during your stay we ask that you head home straight away to self-isolate and seek a test. Staff will not be allowed to work if they are showing any signs of Covid 19.
We will take part in the track and trace service to ensure ongoing safety for both guests and staff.
If you are unable to visit due to a Covid 19 related event, you will be able to move the booking to an alternative date (up to 1 year from the original arrival date).
The Visit Devon website contains updated helpful information about places to visit in the South West.
We look forward to seeing you in the near future.
